Hybrid cloud is the present and future! Organisations are always looking for innovative solutions to support their hybrid cloud needs. Embracing cloud technology has become critical as it offers unmatched scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.

Microsoft has recently rebranded Azure Stack HCI to Azure Local, reinforcing its commitment to simplifying hybrid cloud solutions for enterprises.

With organisations increasingly adopting hybrid cloud strategies, Azure Local offers the best of both worlds: the security and performance of on-premises infrastructure with the scalability and innovation of the cloud. This blog explores the details of Azure Local and how Exigo Tech can help you harness its full potential.

Azure Stack HCI is Now Azure Local: What This Means for Businesses

What is Azure Local?

Azure Local, formerly known as Azure Stack HCI, is Microsoft’s hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform that enables businesses to run workloads on-premises while seamlessly integrating with Azure services. It provides a cost-effective, high-performance, and scalable hybrid cloud solution that helps businesses optimise their IT infrastructure.

By deploying it, businesses can modernise their on-premises data centres, ensure high availability, and leverage Azure-based cloud services such as Azure Arc, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Centre for enhanced security and management.

Why Azure Local for Hybrid Cloud?

As organisations continue to embrace digital transformation, a hybrid cloud approach allows them to efficiently balance on-premises control with cloud scalability. Azure Local serves as the perfect foundation for a modern, secure, and agile IT environment, offering:

• Seamless Azure Integration: Direct access to Azure services for backup, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• On-premises Performance with Cloud Flexibility: Optimised computing, storage, and networking in a single system.
• Unified Hybrid Cloud Management: Centralised management with Azure Arc to streamline operations.
• Deployment Flexibility: Support for diverse workloads, including virtual machines (VMs), Kubernetes clusters, and AI applications.
• High Availability & Business Continuity: Built-in resilience, backup, and recovery options to prevent downtime.
• Cost Optimisation: A pay-as-you-go model that maximises existing on-premises investments.
